:(

Today I had a kid filling something out that needed my name on it.  She stopped, thought about something, realized she didn't know the answer and said, "Are you a Ms. or a Mrs.?"  I was caught off guard and probably just looked confused.  So she nicely repeated, "Are you a Ms. or a Mrs.?"  I looked at her, smiled like it didn't hurt my feelings and said, "You can just put Ms.  That would be fine."  Ugh.  I also had tomato soup for lunch and could feel little drops splash off my spoon onto my face and I don't have a mirror.  Yeah, I'm pretty sure I have little red stains all over my chin, cheeks and around my mouth.  This day is double awesome.

Ahhhh. I am sorry you had a rough day. Forms of any kind suck to fill out. I had to fill out Isabella's school forms and had to leave the Father's part empty. Not fun. Just take comfort in your heart that he was always yours and you will always be his Mrs.
I am skipping the "single, married, divorced" part of the forms though. None fit the part. Few have "widow" on there and frankly I am not ready to mark that one yet. Wish there was a new word for it. Something less depressing and dark. At least for the young widows...I'll do some thinking to what would be a good word, maybe it will catch on! Suggestions welcome!

My brother and I grew up in the 60's. Back then, the forms must have asked something different, as we had to list our parents names and then we had to state the "relationship". For years, my brother would list my mother as his next of kin, as our father died when we were just toddlers. In the space where they asked, "Relationship", instead of putting "Mother" or "Parent", he always put..."Good". That always tickled my mother and she figured it was far better than him listing "Bad".

I just bought gift tags for Christmas.
To: our kids Love: Mommy ....and Daddy.
Hmmm, I just can't bare to give them gifts just from me.

The other day I was filling out a form and I thought, well, I don't have to leave his section blank, he is still the father, so I started to fill his section out...hope they don't try to call him at work, then I will look really crazy. Blessings.
